Rohit Shetty brings together Indian cinema's finest in epic 'Singham Again' trailer

Two words that properly describe director Rohit Shetty's forthcoming action picture "Singham Again" — classy and massy. The film is the fifth part of the director's shared universe, also known as The Cop Universe, which features stories about larger-than-life cops. The film, directed by Bollywood legend Ajay Devgn and starring Kareen Kapoor Khan, has released an approximately 5-minute video that reveals several of the cameos and a good portion of the plot.

The trailer reintroduces Devgn as fan favorite cop Bajirao Singham, and because the film is a Diwali aka festive release, a Ramayan theme is introduced when Singham's wife Avin (Khan) is kidnapped by terrorist Danger Lanka. To save her, Singham, like Lord Ram, gathers the entire cop gang, who play Hanuman, Laxman, Jatayu, and other characters. While there is a mythical element, Shetty continues his run of popcorn films, with plenty of action and amusing character interactions, essentially assembling the Avengers of Hindi cinema.

The Singham Again cast is packed with A-listers! Each actor is capable of leading their own action series, making this film's third act fight a must-see spectacle. Along with Devgn, who started the franchise with 2011's Singham, the film reunites Ranveer Singh as Sangram Bhalerao from Simmba and fellow Bollywood veteran Akshay Kumar as DCP Veer Sooryavanshi from his independent film Sooryavanshi.

Deepika Padukone from Kalki stars as SP Shakti Shetty, Tiger Shroff as ACP Satya, Jackie Shroff as Omar Hafeez, and Arjun Kapoor as the antagonist Danger Lanka. The cast also includes Dayanand Shetty as Senior Inspector Daya, Shweta Tiwari as Shruti Bakshi, Siddhartha Jadhav as Senior Inspector Santhosh Tawade, and Ravi Kishan as a minister. Rumors also say that Salman Khan would appear as fan favorite cop Chulbul Pandey from the Dabangg franchise.

Fans are especially enthusiastic for Singham Again since it reunites several of their favorite actors in a single film. While earlier Cop Universe movies have had crossovers, a crossover of this magnitude is unprecedented. Fans of Shetty's work know not to anticipate laws of physics or a story from his films, instead opting for mind-bending physics-defying large action set pieces and banter among its stars - making these films ideal popcorn entertainment.

Singham Again will be released on November 1. You can watch the new trailer above, and stay tuned to BA for more information.
