I went on a date with a guy from the gym — I was shocked by whom else he invited to join us

He wanted to get more acquainted than she desired.

One doesn't often meet their beau's parents until later in a relationship, so one Brazilian influencer was naturally surprised when a man brought her to his family on their first date together.

"It's not every day you go on a date and end up in the middle of a family reunion," Débora Porto, 35, told Jam Press of the awkward lunchtime encounter. "It's not every day you go on a date and end up in the middle of a family reunion."

The content producer, who usually publishes body-positive photographs and videos with her 2.1 million Instagram followers, said she met the mystery man at her gym.

"We ended up casually chatting about workouts, and it was clear we had a connection," recalled the bombshell, who added that the gym shark finally grabbed her phone and invited her to lunch.

Porto was anticipating a "fun but casual" event until she got at the place and saw he had invited the entire family, like something out of a lousy comedy.

"I discovered it was lunch … but at his mum's house, with the whole family gathered," the "speechless" bunny recalled. "I was very uncomfortable because I wasn't prepared for this kind of situation."

Despite the embarrassing scenario, Porto attempted to retain her cool during the meal, which was no easy task considering that "everyone was looking at me with curiosity," she said.

"It was hard to relax with so many eyes on me," said the social media sensation, who kept wondering what was going on and how she should behave.

Porto stayed at the cringe-worthy gathering for a few hours out of politeness.

"In the end, I thanked them for their hospitality and was polite, but I was relieved to leave," the embarrassed gal said.

"He apologized for not warning me in advance, and I explained that I'd prefer to know ahead of time to avoid discomfort," said Porto, who said the encounter taught her to better screen invitations.

"Today, I see it as an unusual experience and something that taught me to always ask for more details before accepting invitations!" she declared.
